Oct 9    1st Annual New Tech High School Political Forum
Extending an open invitation to our community to a school event for the junior class at Lucia Mar's Central Coast New Tech High School. For our Political Studies class, we are planning a Salon Night, a night in which students, parents, and members of our community join for good food and kid friendly beverages to talk about our government (how it works, why it works that way, and how we can respectfully voice our thoughts on it with others). Our goal is to teach and model for our students that it is possible and powerful for citizens to explain their thoughts about our government. We are hosting the event on Thursday, October 9th from 6pm to 8pm. Our hope is to have a wide range of perspectives and thinkers at the event for the kids to interact with and learn from. For this reason, we are inviting local chambers of commerce, local officials at both the municipal and county level, and other community interest groups. We would be honored if you would post this to any calendar or e-blast that you have at your disposal. If you have any ideas or quick feedback about this event, we are very open to making it as authentic for the kids as possible. Thanks so much. Ryan James 805 903 2236
