Local Non-Profit Fashions for a Purpose Raising Funds and Awareness for Domestic Violence Organization, Lumina Alliance

On Saturday, October 5th, Fashions for a Purpose, a local non-profit founded in 2015, will hold its 10th annual Fashion Event at Dana Adobe Cultural Center, raising funds to educate, engage and empower people of all ages who live and work in the Central Coast about the prevalence of domestic violence.

In 2023, Fashions for a Purpose (FFAP) raised $35,000 to help Lumina Alliance support individuals impacted by sexual and intimate partner violence.

At this year’s event, FFAP's our goal is to have all 150 seats filled to honor our 10th anniversary year! Funds are generated at the event through ticket and merchandise sales, sponsorships, silent and live auctions, along with your generous donations. FFAP also has been fortunate to receive generous grants from local businesses, including $10,000 in 2022 & 2023 from the Team with Allstate Insurance. We will be fortunate to have fashions rocking our runway from the Madonna Inn Boutique. Come cheer on some of our local favorite dignitaries.

Kimberley Victor founded FFAP after moving to Nipomo from the Bay Area. Kimberley was spurred into action after one of her Mary Kay consultants from Oceano, lost her life in a domestic violence situation. A survivor herself, Kimberley knew she had to act. Two days later, Fashions for a Purpose was born.

During its first event, FFAP raised and donated $3,040 to local domestic violence causes. Since then, FFAP has raised over $250,000 and has been recognized continually as one of the top fundraising bodies in the Mary Kay Foundation.

Kimberley and a small volunteer committee spend all year planning and hosting the annual fashion fundraising event. Kimberley will be receiving the Supporter of the year honor from Lumina Alliance t the Dancing with the Stars event, happening April 12th, 2024. Tickets are still available.
