Phase Two of the ‘Buy Local Program’ to Support Village Businesses During the Traffic Way Bridge Rep

ARROYO GRANDE, CA – The City of Arroyo Grande, in partnership with the South County Chambers of Commerce, is excited to announce the second phase of the “Buy Local Program!” The program continues to encourage community members to dine and shop at local businesses impacted by the Traffic Way Bridge Replacement Project.

For every $100 spent at eligible businesses, customers can receive a $20 gift card to a dining establishment impacted by the Project construction, while supplies last. The full list of participating businesses is available on the Chambers’ website. Through this program, residents and visitors can support the Village economy while also enjoying a shopping or dining experience.

On April 8, 2025, the City Council confirmed staff’s direction on a ‘Buy Local Program’ administered by the South County Chambers of Commerce to support Village businesses impacted during the Traffic Way Bridge Replacement Project. Phase 1 of the program launched in June, shortly after construction began, and continued until all funds were used. The City’s initial $10,000 in funding generated approximately $90,000 in community spending, yielding an impressive return of nearly 900% in just three and a half weeks. All program details, including how to submit receipts, can be found on the Chambers’ website. Receipts must be dated on or after September 1, 2025, to qualify for Phase 2 of the Program. The eligible area spans the Village and streets surrounding the Traffic Way Bridge.
